Driver who damaged Audi in Welwyn Garden City car park fined

A woman has been ordered to pay more than £1,300 after driving without due care and attention in a Welwyn Garden City car park.

Clare Waller, of Coleridge Close, Hitchin, was driving a Nissan in the Hunters Bridge car park, Osborn Way, when an accident occurred and damage was caused to an Audi.

Waller admitted failing to stop at the scene on July 28 last year.

She admitted failing to report the accident to police within 24 hours.

The 44-year-old also admitted driving the Nissan without due care and attention.

She was fined £770 for causing the damage and £380 for failing to stop at the scene.

Magistrates also ordered her to pay £77 to victim services and costs of £85.

Six penalty points were added to her licence.
