Woman dies after Welwyn Garden City crash

Police have today confirmed that a woman involved in a crash in Welwyn Garden City town centre has sadly died.

The 90-year-old driver of a blue Nissan Micra was airlifted to the Royal Free Hospital following a crash in Stonehills last Tuesday.

Emergency services were called to the scene at about 2.50pm following reports that the car had been involved in a minor crash with a stationary vehicle before subsequently colliding with scaffolding outside the Nationwide building society.

Police have today confirmed that the 90-year-old sadly died yesterday evening.

Officers are still appealing for information and witnesses.

Anyone with any information should contact Hertfordshire Constabulary via the non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 459 of 31/10.
