A WOMAN who says her daughter was almost hit by a black cab is appealing for a witness who she says saw the incident to come forward

Helen Arnold, 25, was walking her five-year-old daughter, Paige May, to school at 8.35am on Monday, November 5 when the vehicle failed to stop at the pedestrian crossing on Green Lanes in Hatfield.

Miss Arnold, who lives in Cottonfields, Hatfield, said: “The lights were changing and I looked both ways and could see the cab coming towards the crossing, but it was quite far away and I thought it would stop.

“My daughter went to run across the road, and the cab kept going and had to swerve around her.

“It was a bit scary.”

Miss Arnold would like to trace a woman with shoulder length blonde hair wearing smart work clothes who called out the number of the taxi firm from the opposite side of the road.

Police told Miss Arnold they would need the car’s registration number to take further action.
