A WELWYN Hatfield taxi driver has been arrested this morning (Tuesday) as anti-terror police carried out co-ordinated raids on homes in Luton.
The man, believed to be aged 24, was one of five men aged from 21 to 35, who are being held in custody.
They have been arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.
A spokesman for Scotland Yard’s Counter Terrorism Command said: “The arrests were part of a pre-planned, intelligent-led operation.”
“All five were taken to high security Paddington Green police station for questioning.
“Search warrants were also executed under the Terrorism Act 2000 at five residential addresses in Luton in connection with this inquiry and searches are ongoing.”
