THE worst snowfall for nearly two decades greeted locals in February as Welwyn Hatfield ground to an icy halt.

Schools and businesses were shut and chaos ensued on the roads and railways.
The deep freeze left 180 elderly and disabled people without a hot meal for two days, due to health and safety fears.
