School Pupil of the Year (sponsor: Hatfield Town Council)
Young Leader of the Year (sponsor: Mears/HMT)

The nominees will be invited to a glittering awards ceremony at the Campus West Theatre, Welwyn Garden City, on Thursday February 9, 2012, where the winners will receive their prizes. There will also be a guest appearance by a British former Olympic medallist!
The event has been organised by Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council in partnership with the Welwyn Hatfield Times and the Welwyn Hatfield Sports and Physical Activity Alliance (WHSPAA).
Councillor Darren Bennett, Welwyn Hatfield Sports Champion, said: “We feel that there are still more nominations to come, so we’ve taken the step of extending the nomination period by a week to make sure that people haven’t forgotten in the wake of Christmas and New Year plans.”
He added: “I’d urge everybody to let us know as soon as they can of their unsung sporting hero, so that they can get the recognition they deserve – especially when it’s UK’s year in the Olympic spotlight.”
