A CONSULTATION asking residents how many homes they would like to see built in Welwyn Hatfield over the next 20 years closes today.
Today (Monday) is the last day residents could give their feedback on Welwyn Hatfield Council’s new Core Strategy, which has identified five potential housing targets for the borough up to 2031.
The five targets range from a modest 146 new homes per year until 2031, which would require no release of Green Belt, to building 14,400 homes, requiring Green Belt land two thirds the size of Hatfield.
Councillor Mandy Perkins said: “Without further housing, we may not attract the investment necessary to create new jobs and improve our infrastructure.”

Release the green belt land and allow WH to develop. Standing still and looking to the past is not an option.
