Thameslink are warning commuters not to travel today unless “absolutely necessary” due to the weather that’s expected to worsen later in the day.

Trains from Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City and St Albans are running on time this morning.

Thameslink, who are aiming to run a full timetable today, tweeted: “We advise travelling as early as possible and to consider whether it’s absolutely necessary before travelling.

“Should conditions be worse than forecast we will implement an emergency service plan.”

The Met Office has warned residents that it will be another bitter day with strong winds and snow.
