Welwyn Hatfield Council has urged residents to ensure their electoral register information is up to date.

A form will be sent out requesting people to confirm that their address information is still correct – allowing the local authority to keep the register up to date and identify those who are not signed up.

The heads-up comes ahead of the borough council elections in May 2019.

Councillor Fiona Thomson, executive member for governance, said: “To make sure you are able to have your say at the elections next year, simply check the form when it arrives and respond as soon as you can.”

Residents can also register online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote, or the council could send information explaining how to do it via post.

Residents who have any questions can contact their local registration team via 01707 357300 or emailing elections@welhat.gov.uk.
