Welwyn Hatfield-based charity The Mixed Group held one of its most successful quiz nights to date.

The charity, which provides Christmas Day meals for lonely and elderly residents, had 93 people take part in its latest quiz fundraiser – the largest number ever – raising around £730.

Its supporters put their thinking caps on over the weekend at Douglas Tilbe house, where the brainboxes also enjoyed dinner, drinks and a raffle.

The Mixed Group founder Sean Cox said: “It was a very good event, everyone was enjoying themselves and it was great to see so many people brave the cold weather to come and support us.

“There was a fantastic atmosphere with 31 prizes up for grabs in the raffle, as well as a nice supper and of course the quiz.

“Thanks to everyone that attended and we hope to see you again at the next event.”
