A Welwyn Garden City man who was caught on a stolen push bike with a knuckle duster has been jailed for three years.
Michael Forbes, 31, of Harwood Hill, appeared at Luton Crown Court for sentencing on Friday, January 26.
Police had stopped Forbes on the Fiddlebridge Industrial Centre in Hatfield on November 21 last year, and found him with the knuckle duster and a small amount of cannabis.
They also found a mobile on him which showed he had been texting drug users and offering to supply them with cocaine.
Forbes pleaded guilty to being concerned in making an offer to supply a class A drug, having an offensive weapon and handling stolen goods.
Neil King, prosecuting, told the court that checks were made and it was discovered the bike Forbes was riding had been stolen the day before from Hatfield Railway Station.
Although Forbes had been sending text messages to others offering to supply them with cocaine, he had not supplied anyone with the drug. He was a user of cocaine himself and was looking to sell some on to associates to fund his own habit.
Judge Nic Madge, who was told Forbes had 26 previous court appearances concerning 70 offences, jailed him for three years.
