Man in custody after woman found dead in Welwyn Garden City

A woman was found dead at a house in Welwyn Garden City last night  and detectives are now investigating, with a man in custody.

A woman was found dead at a house in Welwyn Garden City last night – and detectives are now investigating, with a man in custody.

Police were called by the ambulance service at 11.30pm last night after the woman was discovered at an address in Lemsford Lane.

A force spokeswoman told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “Officers are working to establish the circumstances around her death.

“A man is currently in police custody while enquiries continue.”

The brief police statement did not disclose on suspicion of what the man had been arrested.
