Welwyn Garden City man in court over indecent photos

A Welwyn Garden City man is due to be sentenced for making indecent photographs of a child.

Mark Fitzpatrick, 51, appeared in St Albans Magistrates’ Court on September 4.

The defendant, of Long Ley, admitted making indecent images in Welwyn Garden City on or about October 6 last year.

In total he made 20 category C images.

Fitzpatrick will be sentenced at St Albans Crown Court on September 28 or on any such other date or time as the crown court directs.

He has also been required to register with the police in accordance with the Sexual Offences Act from the date he appeared at the magistrates’ court.

The period for which he must register will be determined as the case is dealt with.
