It’s time to get voting for your favourite Welwyn Garden City town centre business.

Welwyn Garden City Business Improvement District (BID) has opened voting for the town centre awards.

Members of the public are being invited to choose from a list of nominees by voting online at www.welwyngarden.co.uk.

By taking a moment to support your favourite businesses in the town centre you also have opportunity to win one of several cash prizes, two of £25 and one top prize of £100.

This year’s ‘People’s Favourite business’ categories are:

•Most involved in the WGC community

•Most family friendly

•Most welcoming

•Friendliest staff

•Rising star

•Best window display

•Best value

•Friendliest service

•Welwyn Garden City treasure

Last year Greys Hairdressing was high commended as the ‘People’s favourite’.

Salon owner Geoff Gordon said: “Our customers loved that they were able to vote for their favourite business and recognise the work that our staff do, and when we had the award in our window, it brought in new customers too”.

The main categories will be judged by an independent, professional judging panel who will be carrying out mystery shopping visits to determine the winners.

Ultimately, the idea behind the awards is to improve the overall customer service experience in the town centre.

All the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on the evening of October 12.
