The Welwyn Hatfield South Policing Team have told a vandal to “grow up” and warned lives had been put at risk after their car tyre was slashed.

Police took to Twitter last night after seeing that their tyre had been damaged while they were in Welham Green yesterday evening.

Officers tweeted: “Dear criminal of Welham Green.

“Even though YOU did this, YOU have to understand that if an ambulance isn’t available for YOUR family, we are next to attend.

“YOU have just put YOUR OWN family at risk because YOU took us off the road.”

Officers told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “There were lots of people around this police car this evening.

“Lots of people know who did this.

“To take an emergency , life-saving vehicle off the road is hideous.

“Someone in Welham Green knows.”

Officers added: “YOUR mam, sister, brother, dad, best friend in a crash. Or ambo can’t get to an emergency medical issue. Sorry. We can’t either. Because YOU Did this to a vehicle crewed by emergency trained first aiders.

“Someone needs to grow up. And own up. Who did this? Call @CrimestoppersUK.”
