Then why not head to Lemsford village fete?

The event opens at 1pm and runs until 5pm. It will feature tombolas, bouncy castle, coconut shy and a teacup ride, as well as other fete favourites.

Wannabe campanologists, history buffs and modellers take note, as in addition there will be interactive attractions such as bell ringing demonstrations, Lemsford Local History Display, vintage cars, fire engine and demonstrations from the WGC Model Engineers.

And there will be a beauty parlour with hair braiding, face painting, plate decorating and pony rides for the kids.

Refreshments are available throughout the day including a barbecue, using locally produced meats and Fairtrade products and tea rooms.

And if it rains, provisions have been made to move events inside the church and school halls.

Entry will cost £1.50 for adults, £1 for OAPs and children under 16 free.
