A Cuffley teenager has been selected to play in a national sport event for the UK’s most talented young athletes.

Toni Akinola, 14, of Cuffley, has been selected to compete in Netball at the 2018 School Games – a national multi-sport event at Loughborough University from August 30 to September 2.

Toni, who attends St Edmund’s College and plays for Turnford Netball Club, will be following in the footsteps of some of Britain’s biggest sporting stars who have competed at the event before going on to senior international success.

At the event the athletes will experience the excitement of competing at the highest level, and perform in front of huge crowds of spectators.

Previous competitors include Olympic champion Adam Peaty, heptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson and sprinter Adam Gemili.

Tickets for the event are available now, at
