THE Queen will be visiting Hatfield this summer, as part of her Diamond Jubilee tour of the country.

She will be accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh on the trip, on either June 13 or 14.

The news was announced today (Wednesday) via the official website of the monarchy.

A statement says: “Her Majesty The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, will mark the year of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with a series of regional visits throughout the United Kingdom.

“Touring the country by road, rail, air and sea, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will travel widely across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

“These visits will give Her Majesty the opportunity to express her thanks to people throughout the country for their continued support and loyalty.”

  • Shame she won't be going to see the real Hatfield but then again why should she be bothered about real people as long as she has our taxes.... the Royal family outdated and out of touch.

  • maybe her majesty fancy's a look around the market or she may pop into one of many multicultural shops.. :D maybe she would like to spend the night in queensway house ..great view

  • I have to assume it will be Old Hatfield and Hatfield House, not our 'lovely' town centre. The poor old lady doesn't deserve to be punished at a time of great celebration!
