A kitten in Kimpton has been left with singed paws after he scampered into the engine of a Peugeot van.

The handsome four-month-old white and tabby feline was running away from the van’s owner, who was trying to help the stray.

Unable to free him, the van owner drove to the nearest garage where mechanics were able to get him to safety.

He was taken to the Blue Cross rehoming centre in Kimpton where - of course - he was named Purrgeot.

Unfortunately, Purrgeot’s owners have not been found, so he needs a loving home.

.

Kirsten Findlay, rehoming supervisor at Blue Cross Herfordshire, said: “Purrgeot has had quite an adventure and has definitely used up one of his nine lives.

“Apart from slightly burned paws, he’s absolutely fine and is such a happy, friendly little chap.

“He didn’t have a collar and tag and he wasn’t microchipped, so unfortunately we weren’t able to trace his owners.”
