A South Mimms mum raised over £2k at a fundraiser in memory of her son.

Jo-Ann Cousins 33, organised the event in aid of Essex & Herts Air Ambulance after Tommy, two at the time, passed away unexpectedly from parainfluenza last September.

Supporters flocked to The White Hart in South Mimms and enjoyed a raffle, fire engine, sponsored head shaving and tug-of-war.

There was also a bouncy castle, face painting, live music, and a unicorn visit.

“It couldn’t have run smoother,” Jo-Ann told the Welwyn Hatfield Times. “The kids were really happy they got to see the fire engine called out. It was just a really, really good day.”

She said that it was lovely to see everyone soaking up the joyous atmosphere, adding “Obviously what I had to do it for was sad, but it’s nice to know I have so many good friends and family around me.”
