Sonisphere 2014 looks set to return to Knebworth House following a shock announcement.

A mysterious update on the hard rock festival’s Facebook page has sparked speculation live music could again ring out in the grounds of the stately home.

The cryptic update revealed: “Hi all, put a date in the diary and keep the 4th-6th July 2014 free. Planning a festival to celebrate 40 years of Rock Music at Knebworth Park. Who would you like to see play?”

Social media is abuzz with conjecture, but the official Sonisphere Twitter account has been updated and now states: “Touring rock festival. 35 festivals in 5 years. Locations for 2014: Knebworth.”
