A group of Welwyn Garden City dieters have lost 230 stone between them – the equivalent of 3,227 Christmas Puddings.

The class, who meet at Oaklands College, have lost the weight since the Slimming World group opened in May.

In November the group was awarded Flagship Status to recognise the warm welcome being given to new starters.

The group started with 38 members and now has over 100.

It is run by Emma Reeves, from Welwyn Garden City, who has lost over six stone with Slimming World.

Emma said: “Losing weight is hard but it’s so much easier when you have the support of others.

“The groups are like family, we all look out for each other.

“They cheer at each other’s successes and they are super supportive when times are hard.”

Emma’s group meets at Oaklands College, The Campus, every Thursday at 5.30pm and 7.30pm.

The class will temporarily be at Lakeside School, Lemsford Lane, on December 28.
