Police have appealed for witnesses after a crash today in Hatfield resulted in a man in his 70s being hospitalised.

Emergency services were called just after 10am to the collision in Roehyde Way, which involved a black Audi TT and a black Seat Ibiza.

A police spokeswoman said that one of the motorists – a man aged in his 70s – has been taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

Sergeant Douglas Fishwick, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the two vehicles involved shortly before the incident to contact Hertfordshire Constabulary via the non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 191 of May 24.

“If you would prefer to provide information anonymously contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or submit details through their anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.”
