A new retailer will create more than 80 jobs when it opens at Hatfield’s former Homebase store.

Discount retailer B&M will open for the first time at 9am on Saturday, October 13, and has said it will provide a boost to the local economy.

A spokesman said: “We’re feeling really positive about the creation of even more jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.

“We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers in a few weeks.”

Shoppers can expect to find a variety of branded products including toys, food and drink, pet range, health and beauty, and homewares.

It will also boast DIY, decorating and furniture ranges, as well as its own frozen foods department.

The B&M spokesman said that its job roles, which are being advertised on its website, will include sales assistants, floor managers and cleaners.
