QUEEN have added a third London concert date with Adam Lambert following the cancellation of this summer’s 2012 Sonisphere rock festival at Knebworth Park.

The rock legends and former American Idol finalist Lambert will play another show at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo in July.

The band’s two dates already confirmed at the London venue on Wednesday, July 11 and Thursday, July 12 sold out fast.

They were hastily added after the cancellation of the three-day international touring festival Queen were due to headline at Knebworth on Saturday, July 7.

Queen and Adam Lambert’s third Hammersmith show will take place on Saturday, July 14.

Tickets go on sale on at 9am on Monday, May 14.

Promoter Paul Roberts confirmed the two earlier London gigs sold out “within minutes”.

The extra London date will be the final show of five Queen guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor play together with flamboyant singer Lambert this summer.

In addition to the Hammersmith shows, Queen and Lambert will also appear at Moscow Sports Arena on July 3 and at The Municipal Stadium, in Wroclaw, Poland, on July 7 – the day they were due to make an exclusive return to Knebworth.

Speaking at the time of the announcement, May said: “Adam has an extraordinary voice – no two ways about it. So we’ll be exploring new ways to do things. So it will be exciting!”

Taylor last week described the collaboration with Lambert as “fireworks”.

Tickets for the Hammersmith concert will be available from the box office on 0843 221 0100, via www.hmvapollo.com and the national credit card hotline on 0844 875 8758.
