Power cuts in Codicote and Hatfield

UK Power Networks is apologising to residents over power cuts in both Codicote and Hatfield this afternoon.

There are 36 households without power in Codicote.

The problem was reported just after noon today.

UK Power Networks states: “Our engineers are working hard to fix it as quickly as possible.

“We are sorry for any trouble this may have caused you.

“A fault has occurred on an underground electricity cable affecting the local area.

“We may have to dig up the road to carry out repairs.”

The company was unable to say when power may be restored.

In the Hatfield area (AL9 5 postcode area), eight homes are affected by a power cut.

UK Power Networks states: “We’re investigating an electricity cable that has been damaged.”

The company hopes to have restored power no later than 5.30pm today after the issue was reported just before 1.15pm.
