Or, rather, youngsters from the Furzefield Centre’s Starjumps Nursery did – in fancy dress.

Their sponsored toddle waddle raised £366, with more still coming in, for children’s charity Barnardo’s.

The children, all dressed up to fit in with the event’s animal theme, were treated to face painting, before completing the toddle around the King George V playing field behind the Mutton Lane sports centre.

Afterwards, there was storytelling and singing, along with a picnic lunch.

Nursery deputy manager Hayley Horan said: “This was a great opportunity for children to explore and gain from the outdoor environment in a fun way and raise money for charity at the same time.”
