Police have carried out initial enquiries and are now appealing for witnesses after a Rotary Club generator was stolen.

Between 11am and 12.10pm on Friday, December 22 a generator belonging to the Potters Bar Rotary Club was stolen as members collected money for charity in Mutton Lane.

The generator had been strapped into a sleigh at the time.

PCSO Chris Ramdeen, from the Potters Bar and Shenley Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “This is a particularly heartless crime as the Rotary Club was collecting for good causes at the time of the theft.

“We have conducted initial enquiries and would appeal for anyone with information to please come forward.”

•Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference J3/17/1791 or report information online at https://www.herts.police.uk/Report
