A Potters Bar couple who frequently appear on reality TV have plans to carry on popping up on our screens.

Charley Clark, 31, of Cranborne Close, appeared on Channel 4’s The Lie Detective in November 2016 with her boyfriend Can Somer, 20.

On the show deception expert Dan Ribacoff hooks the couples up to a polygraph machine and encourages them to ask one another 20 extremely probing questions, such as “am I good in bed?” and “have you ever cheated on me?”.

Then Dan examines the results and their body language to see if they are telling the truth.

The couple were also given 20 questions to ask each other such as “who is more clever?”.

Charley responded “well you did teach me that a rhinoceros is not a rhinoSAURUS and is not the last living dinosaur on the earth”.

Another question was “do you prefer me with or without a tan?” to which Can responded “half a tan, I prefer you with half a tan”. Charley then asked “which half?”.

The viewers took quickly to Twitter, tweeting during the show, and loved their hilarious responses.

Charley and Can have an age gap of 10 years between them, and Charley mentioned in the show that she has had 10 years more experience than him in relationships, but some viewers couldn’t see the age gap.

Can said: “I’m the more mature one in the relationship and Charley is more immature but that’s why we balance each other out.”

The loved-up pair were one of the few couples that came out of the show with no lies detected between them.

Since their appearance on Channel 4, Charley and Can have appeared on E4’s Carjackers in December, a UK version of
Pimp My Ride but with a comedy twist.

Viewers watched Charley steal her boyfriend’s car, take it to the garage, and request that it got turned into a giant pink fluffy cat.

The car also meowed thanks to an inbuilt microphone that was installed.

Can was shocked on the day of the big reveal of the makeover, but Charley talked him into keeping the car how it was.

Can said on the show “I don’t know what’s worse, the car meowing or Charley’s voice”, to which the commentator Chris Ramsay said “Well at least one of them can be left outside at night”.

The show filmed Charley and Can driving around after and Charley talking to members of the public on the microphone saying “do you like the car? I think it’s ‘purrfect’, do you get it?”.

Charley told the Potters Bar Edition: “It was a long journey home that day as we had people on the motorway taking pictures and waving.

“The show was amazing and definitely memorable.

“It was absolutely hilarious and bonkers.”

Most recently Charley appeared on Channel 4’s Webscam, an online show where a psychic predicted her future.

The pair, who first met on a photoshoot, have plans to appear on many more reality shows.

Charley said: “Things are in the work and we’re going through the process to appear on TV again so keep an eye out.”
