Potters Bar community fundraises for Harry

Fundraising for Potters Bar’s Harry Worrell has gathered momentum with the total so far reaching nearly £17k.

The 11-year-old has Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) – a degenerative disease that causes the muscles to shrink and weaken.

However, an expensive “miracle” drug is now available in America, and Harry’s mum Joanne is hoping to raise enough money for a consultation.

Local residents and businesses have since thrown their weight behind the fundraising.

There will be a ‘dancercise’ event at the Furzefield Centre on March 25, at 11.30am, costing £10 per person, and all the money will go to Harry.

Jack’s Barbers in Darkes Lane is also helping the cause by asking customers to donate, before throwing a dart at a bullseye for a free haircut. They have already raised more than £600.
