Police have been on the scene in Welwyn this afternoon and police tape has been put up in one road.

Members of the public have reported seeing a large number of officers in the Welwyn area today.

Eyewitnesses also say they saw armed police with a dog handler going through the graveyard at St Mary’s Church.

Fulling Mill Lane has also been blocked and police tape has been in place.

At about 3pm police were removing a dark blue car from Fulling Mill Lane, which appeared to have been left in an area of undergrowth.

Residents also commented on social media about a helicopter circling overheard.
