Burglar targets elderly couple in Welwyn Garden City

A burglar climbed in through the open window of a house in Welwyn Garden City while the elderly occupants were at home.

A police spokesman said: “At around 5pm on Sunday, an offender gained access to the upstairs of a home in Sherrardspark Road by climbing through an open window.

“The offender went into a bedroom before leaving without taking anything.

“The offender is described as a white man, aged around 20, of medium build with dark brown hair.

“He is believed to have made off in a car.”
