Burglary and attempted break-ins in Welwyn Garden City: Police appeal

Police are investigating after offenders targeted three homes in Welwyn Garden City last night.

Between 8pm and 8.10pm, a burglar got into a home in Woodhall Lane but fortunately was disturbed by the occupant’s dog and made off, running across the road.

This burglary is being linked with two attempted burglaries in Woodhall Lane on the same night.

Between 9.30pm and 10pm, offenders damaged the front door lock of a property before fleeing.

Between 8.10pm and 8.15pm, an offender approached the front window of a property and attempted to force open a window.

A police spokesman said: “The offender was disturbed and made off.

“He is described as being a white man, between 5ft 9in and 5ft 10in tall, of stocky build and wearing a dark zip up hooded top, light coloured trousers and trainers.”
