Police deal with incident in Welwyn Garden City woods

Police and the ambulance service are currently on the scene in woodland in Welwyn Garden City.

A police spokesman: “Police were called at 12.09pm today to reports of concerns for the welfare of a man in Sherrardspark Woods, off Digswell Hill.

“Officers are at currently at the scene along with members of the ambulance service.”

A dog walker told the Welwyn Hatfield Times that there were a lot of police officers in the woods and another said they saw a white tent.

An ambulance service spokesman said: “The East of England Ambulance Service Trust was called at 11.53am today (October 17) to a concern for welfare for man in the woods, off Rectory Road in Welwyn Garden City.

“A rapid response vehicle was sent to the scene to help.”
