Police confirm death of man in Welwyn Garden City woods

Police have confirmed the death of a 30-year-old man after officers were called to woodland in Welwyn Garden City yesterday.

The family of the Welwyn Garden City man have been contacted by police.

His death is not thought to be suspicious.

Police were called to Sherrardspark Wood yesterday lunchtime to reports of concerns for the welfare of a man.

The ambulance service was also in attendance at the scene, just off Rectory Road.

Walkers reported seeing a large number of police officers.

A police spokesman said: “The body of a 30-year-old man from Welwyn Garden City, was discovered by a member of the public in Sherarrdspark Woods at around noon yesterday (Tuesday October 17).

“The man’s family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.”
