Police were called to deal with a beggar in Welwyn Garden City this morning.

Police were called to deal with a beggar in Welwyn Garden City this morning.


Members of the public called the police this morning after a woman was being verbally abusive to people in the Woodhall area of Welwyn Garden City.

A police spokeswoman told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “We had a report of a woman begging in Cole Green Lane at 8.23am this morning.

“The report stated the woman was being verbally abusive.

“Police attended and the woman had left the area.”

Members of the public took to social media to express their “disgust” at the woman’s behaviour.
