A man has been arrested after police were called to Welwyn Garden City train station.

A spokesman for Herts Police said: “Police were called at 4.27pm today (Monday, January 22) to reports of a disturbance at Welwyn Garden City railway station.

“It was reported that a member of the public had boarded an empty train and was being verbally abusive towards station staff.

“Officers attended, alongside colleagues from the British Transport Police, to deal with the incident.

“A man was detained and arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly before being transported to custody where he remains.”
