Police are appealing for witnesses after two people were attacked outside a shopping centre in Welwyn Garden City.

Between 10.30pm and 11.15pm on September 22, a 20-year-old man and 15-year-old boy were walking out of the Howard Centre along Fretherne Road, opposite KFC, when they were approached by two men engaging them in conversation.

However, the encounter turned violent - the older victim was punched in the head and the younger boy was hit with a glass bottle.

Both victims were left with injuries which needed hospital treatment.

Investigating Det Con Kylie Davies said: “As part of our enquiries we have reviewed CCTV footage and it appears that at the time of the incident, there were a number of vehicles and members of the public in the area.

“If you witnessed what happened, or have any information that could assist us with our enquiries, we would like to hear from you.”

Anyone with information should contact kylie.davies@herts.pnn.police.uk or call Herts police on 101, using reference 41/39371/18.
