Police are appealing for witnesses after burglars ransacked a Potters Bar home before stealing several items.
The crooks gained entry to a property in Heath Drive between 8pm on Saturday, February 10 and 3am the following morning, by getting into the rear garden and smashing a first-floor bathroom window.
They then looted 20 pairs of cufflinks, a black square purse, Versace aftershave, passport, two handbags and a provisional driving licence.
An OWL message sent to residents said: “Did you see any suspicious persons or vehicles in the area around the above times, or have any CCTV which may assist police with their enquiries, please telephone police on the non-emergency number 101 and quote reference J3/18/363.”
It comes after Potters Bar Neighbourhood Watch launched a petition earlier this month calling for the government to increase its core funding for the police.
But Herts Police and Crime Commissioner David Lloyd said he was happy with the level of funding, as expanded precept-raising powers have helped maintain the county’s “strong” financial position.
