A LEISURE centre in Potters Bar is throwing open its doors to the public tomorrow.
The Furzefield Centre in Mutton Lane will be offering free activities for people to come along and try on Saturday and Sunday.
There will be plenty on offer for adults and children alike, including trampolining, martial arts, tennis, swimming and aerobics.
The centre’s Beaumonts gym, which has just undergone a £250,000 revamp, will also be open for free tasters, and instructors will be on hand to talk to.
Youngsters can also enjoy face painting, an assault course and bouncy castle.
The open weekend marks the official start of a new partnership, which will see Hertsmere Leisure continue to run services across the borough for the next 10 years.
That £30m contract starts today (Wednesday).
Centre manager Barry Ellis said: “We wanted to celebrate our new partnership with the borough council by giving something back to the local community who have supported us over the last 10 years.
“We hope people who have never been to the centre will come and have a look and try some of the free taster sessions we will be offering.”
Cllr Brenda Batten said: “The open weekend is a great opportunity for residents to get a taster of what the centre has to offer.
“There’ll be a wide range of activities for all ages and abilities, so whether you just want a fun day out or perhaps you want to try the latest exercise craze, make sure you don’t miss out.”
