THERE was no rest for Welwyn student Tom Kingham – he was back at university and sitting in lectures just 24 hours after completing the Virgin London Marathon.

Tom, 20, who is studying history at the Unviersity of East Anglia in Norwich, said on Monday: “I drove back this morning and was in a lecture at 1pm.

“I’m stumbing around a bit, but I’m finding the more I rest the worse my legs get!”

Former Monk’s Walk School pupil Tom finished the race in 5.26.12.

“It was not as good as I had hoped, but it was a pretty hot day.

“As soon as I finished it starting pouring with rain, which was a bit of a relief!”

Tom raised £1,200 for Pulmonary Hypertension Association UK in memory of his friend Jamie Chalmers’ brother Michael, another ex-Monk’s Walk pupil who died of the lung condition in 2003.
