Jon Askham and girlfriend Emma Ramsdale have launched their new business Kinetic Cycles in Church Road – offering the latest makes, models, clothing and accessories from the biking world.

The independent store has been created by the pair to fill a gap in WGC’s retail offering.

And having worked in cycle shops since he was a teenager, the opening of Kinetic Cycles is the realisation of a long-held dream for 26-year-old Jon.

“Cycling is one of the largest growing sports in the UK, if not the largest, and it contributes more to the UK economy than even football,” he said.

“We spoke to a number of people and a lot of them said there was no established cycling shop that serves the majority of people’s needs, so we’re trying to fill that gap,” Jon said.

“We cater for everybody. We do road bikes, mountain bikes, kids’ bikes and hybrids.

“We’ve got bikes to suit every budget, discipline and level, from real beginners, to leisure riders and serious enthusiasts.

“We do sales, servicing, clothing, spares and accessories.

“And we’ve got a fully equipped workshop area to carry out repairs efficiently and cheaply.”

Kinetic Cycles offers all the latest brands, including Ridgeback, Genesis, Specialized and Fox.
