Year 7 youngsters at Monk’s Walk School in WGC and their families donated all sorts of gifts, ranging from toys, games and books to Barnardo’s and homeware to Herts Young Homeless.

They dropped off the gifts just before Christmas at the collection point in the Galleria after the shopping centre organised the appeal.

Both charities awarded the teenagers with certificates as a thank you for their generosity and they were also treated to hot chocolates.

Head of Year 7 Heidi Chilton said: “Students and their families were incredibly generous in their donations of gifts.

“The students chosen to deliver the gifts to the Galleria enjoyed the whole experience and are proud of the awarded certificates. “Given the success of this appeal we hope to take part in it again in the run up to next Christmas.”
