THREE men miraculously walked away unharmed after this horrific crash scene on the A1(M) last night (Tuesday).
The collision, between and van and a car happened in the Hatfield Tunnel at around 4.45pm.
Two ambulance crews from WGC were scrambled to the scene of devastation on the southbound carriageway.
But amazingly, after checking over the two drivers and a passenger in the van no further medical assistance was needed.
Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson, who was at the scene, said: “On our arrival the van was overturned in lane two and the car was facing northbound on lane one.”
He added: “The two men who were travelling in the van when it overturned were uninjured.
“A man who was driving the car involved in the collision was also uninjured.”
Mr Sanderson said the men had had “a very lucky escape”.

Yes, there is CCTV. The next question is was it working? It better be after the money spent - but who knows.

And are the police going to investigate the cause of what could have been a multiple fatality? Surely there is CCTV in the tunnel?
