Man glassed at Welwyn Garden City party

A PARTY-GOER was grabbed around the neck and then glassed in WGC.

A 25-year-old WGC resident needed stitches after being struck with the pint glass on the dancefloor of the Haldens Residents Association in Margery Wood between 10pm and 11pm on Saturday May 5.

Herts Police assistant investigator Linda Bunton, from the Local Crime Unit in Hatfield, is keen to establish what happened and is appealing for further information.

She said: “There were a lot of people attending the party that night and I believe someone would have seen the incident.

“If you did see something or know anything about it please get in touch with me by calling 01707 806823 and quoting crime reference number B1/12/1249.”

* An 18-year-old male from WGC has been arrested on suspicion of GBH wounding with intent and released on police bail.
