Man suffers head injury while being robbed in Hatfield

A man has suffered a head injury while being robbed of a packet of cigarettes in a Hatfield street this morning.

Police were called at 1.19am to Crawford Road to reports that a man had been robbed in the street.

During the incident, the victim suffered a head injury.

An ambulance service spokesman said: “An ambulance was called to the scene just after 1.20am.

“The man suffered a head injury, which the ambulance crew treated. He was conscious and breathing.

“An off-duty paramedic was helping the patient before the paramedics arrived at the scene. The man was taken to Lister Hospital.”

A packet of Marlboro cigarettes was stolen from the victim.

Police officers attended and a search was carried out.

Four men have been arrested and remain in custody at this time.

Forensic officers are currently at the scene.
