A man in his early 20s has been stabbed in Hatfield, sparking police to appeal for witnesses.

Officers were called to Hazel Grove at around 7.30pm last night (Thursday) following reports of an altercation between a man in his early 20s and two other men.

A police spokeswoman said: “It is believed all three men had agreed to meet outside on the street before one of the two men stabbed the man in his early 20s and they both ran from the scene.

“The injured man was left by himself and the emergency services were called.

“The man in his 20s was taken to hospital and is currently undergoing treatment.”

Residents voiced concern on social media, claiming to have seen an ambulance and the road cordoned off by police.
