Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted burglary in Potters Bar.

It happened yesterday (Wednesday, March 6) between 10.50pm and 11.20pm at a property in Coopers Road, where someone tried to gain entry via the rear garden door before smashing a kitchen window.

After failing to get inside, the crook made off empty handed.

He is described as a white man in his early 20s and of slim build, and was wearing dark jeans and a dark top with the hood up.

A police spokeswoman urged anyone with information to contact officers via 101, quoting crime reference B2/18/970.

It comes amid a petition by Potters Bar Neighbourhood Watch lobbying the government to “fully fund” police – launched in response to a spate of local burglaries.
