Man seriously hurt after getting trapped between lorry and iron gate

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously hurt as he assisted a lorry driver in Goff’s Oak.

The incident happened just before 2.30pm on Monday, October 30, on Silver Street, outside Silver Street Cemetery.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was assisting a lorry driver when he became trapped between the vehicle and an iron gate, causing serious injuries.

He was airlifted to a London hospital for further treatment.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Sergeant William Hood, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or the aftermath, to please come forward and speak to us if they have not done so already.”
