Man charged in connection with Hatfield stabbing

A Hatfield man has been charged in connection with a stabbing in the town centre on Sunday afternoon.

Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Hatfield in which a 36-year-old man suffered puncture wounds to his leg and chest.

Officers got the call at 3.56pm to Town Centre.

A man aged in his 30s and a woman aged in her 40s, both from Hatfield, were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

Police have now confirmed that Nicholas Pitts, aged 37, of Stockbreach Road, Hatfield, has been charged with Section 18 Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH).

He remains in custody and is due to appear before court today (Tuesday).

A 46-year-old woman from Hatfield, who was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
